Chase is Stinky
It's not the first time I've been displeased with a credit card company, but Chase upset me twice in a week.
Incident #1) This really started about a month ago when I noticed they capped my bonus earnings early. The fine print read "Maximum accumulation on Net Purchases is 30,000 per Calendar Year. ('Calendar Year' means the twelve month period beginning in January through December.)" I tracked my 2007 purchases, and was well below the 30,000 mark. I called to complain, was told it would be investigated, and never heard back. I called again, and was told that there was a note in the file that their records were correct. Nice of them to let me know. I followed up with a letter, and just received the response a few days ago. They're further "defining" calendar year: "This is from the January billing statement to the December billing statement." I haven't decide how much further to push.
Incident #2) On a different Chase card, they only credited $12 bonus dollars. Apparently they have fine print that effectively cap the bonus earnings to $12/month. I have yet to dig out my paperwork to determine whether I missed it, or whether they changed the rules on me.
Grr! Chase, you stink!
