UPDATE 5: freeiPods.com
Well, my iPod has changed status to "Sent to Vendor, Waiting on Product." freeiPods.com describes this as "We have placed your order, but are most likely waiting for inventory to arrive before we can ship it out." They offer to an option to "change your 20Gb iPod to the HP 20GB iPod," which they explain as follows, "HP has begun manufacturing the iPod. They have more supplies on hand, and your order will usually ship out faster if you select this option. Their iPod is exactly the same as Apple's execpt another company makes the hard drive, and the packaging on the box is branded for HP. If the HP is available then we will ship it, but you may also get the Apple iPod." (The typo is theirs.)
I'm not in a rush per se, but it may be worth switching.
