OfficeMax Sucks: BBB Complaint

I had just about given up on the $50 that OM owes me when I remembered that I had never filed a BBB complaint. So, I took a few minutes, and complained away:

Secondary Complaint Classification: Selling Practices
Complaint:
Item was advertised for $150, but online the price in the system (when I ordered) was $200. I called to have the price adjusted, and the Customer Service Representative (CSR) informed me that I could expect a refund of $50 + tax ($54.24) to show on my credit card about 1 week later. When I later checked for the refund on my credit card company's website, it never showed. I contacted OfficeMax many times by phone and by letter to request the refund. The first few times I complained, I was told that they didn't know why I hadn't been credited, but that I would be. Later I was told they couldn't credit me the whole amount, but part of it. Later yet, I was told they wouldn't credit me anything. Their latest excuse is that because I used a coupon, they can't correct the price. However, this directly contradicts what I was EXPLICITLY told by the CSR - that I would receive my refund.

NOTE: The contact dates listed in the complaint form are approximate.

Desired Settlement: Refund
Settlement Explanation:
I expect to be refunded the amount originally promised, $54.24. It would be nice to get an apology for all of the runaround that they have put me through as well. I have stopped purchasing from them because of this incident, and I warn all of my family and friends to beware!
