CA GC Law

It seems the CA GC (gift card/certificate) Law isn't as friendly as originally suspected. According to a document from the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Division of Legal Affairs, "California’s Legislative Counsel has concluded that a merchant is not required to redeem a gift certificate in cash when requested by a consumer." Boo!

Any readers with legal background are welcome to weigh in with their opinions.
